MACKENZIE CARPENTER RELEASES PUNCHY NEW TRACK “SOUND OF A HEARTBREAK”

“Country Artist to Watch” Mackenzie Carpenter last Friday (17th May) released a rockin’ break-up song “Sound Of A Heartbreak” via The Valory Music Co.

Mackenzie has been teasing the upbeat-yet-biting earworm on social media after performing it at CRS and Stagecoach. The unapologetically bold track finds the Georgia native expertly articulating the jarring impact of a break-up and the all-consuming feelings and memories that come along with it, giving fans a taste of her exciting new era of music on the horizon.

Written by Mackenzie Carpenter alongside writer/producer Brandon Hood and GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter, Liz Rose, “Sound Of A Heartbreak” shows a new, edgier, harder side of Carpenter. The production by Dann Huff and Brandon Hood infuses the track with a stadium-filling energy with heavy percussion beats to accompany the cutting lyrics sung by Mackenzie with the conviction of a seasoned pro.

“When coming up with the idea for ‘Sound Of A Heartbreak,’ I was thinking about how most heartbreak songs are about what you’re feeling, but we have all these other senses that play into our emotions,” shared Mackenzie. “I wanted to explore what you hear when your heart gets broken or you get bad news. I think we really painted a picture of a girl going crazy from the sound of her heartbreak playing over and over again in her mind.”

Mackenzie has been penning bold, tell-it-like-it-is songs with some of Country music’s hottest talents for years. Fans have heard her songwriting chops on songs including Lily Rose’s 2021 No. 1 hit “Villain,” Megan Moroney’s Top 25 single “I’m Not Pretty,” and new fan-favourite Megan Moroney track “Indifferent” to name a few. Her top-notch storytelling ability paired with her signature cheeky writing style can be seen in her own work as well in tracks like “Huntin’ Season,” an ode to sweet freedom from a significant other out on a hunting trip, and “Don’t Mess With Exes,” a clever play on words turned girl’s girl anthem.

Later this month, Mackenzie will hit the road for an opening slot on Country star Cole Swindell’s Win The Night Tour in addition to performing at this year’s CMA Fest (including the Dr. Pepper Amp Stage on 6th June).

More new music from MacKenzie is expected throughout the year. To keep up to date with MacKenzie visit mackenziecarpentermusic.com/tour/.
