OLD DOMINION WAS ALSO NOMINATED FOR “ALBUM OF THE YEAR”

Acclaimed country band, Old Dominion took home “Vocal Group of The Year” at the 2020 CMA Awards tonight. This marks the band’s third CMA win since they entered the music industry in 2014. Old Dominion also received a 2020 CMA nomination for “Album Of The Year”.

Tonight, the group also performed Johnny Lee’s “Looking for Love” in honor of the of the 40th anniversary of the release of Urban Cowboy.

This win at the CMAs follows on the heels of the band’s numerous award wins and nominations this fall. They recently took home “Song of The Year” and “Group of the Year” wins at the 55th Annual ACM Awards, “Group Video of The Year” at the 2020 CMT Awards, and just this week the band won “Song of The Year” at the ASCAP Country Music Awards.

The group was also nominated for “Country Song” and “Country Duo/Group” at the Billboard Music Awards and are currently up for “Duo or Group – Country” at the American Music Awards.

The group also notched two nominations for the 2020 CMAs including “Vocal Group” and “Album of the Year” for their self-titled 2019 studio album, nominations for “Top Country Duo/Group” and “Top Country Song” for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, as well as a “Favorite Duo/Group – Country” nod for the 2020 American Music Awards.

Over the course of their career, the band has also been notably named ACM “New Group of the Year,” ACCA “Breakthrough Group of the Year,” AIMP “Songwriter Artist of the Year” and Music Row “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and in 2017, front man Matthew Ramsey was ASCAP’s “Artist of the Year.” The band has also received nominations for CMT Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, and iHeart Radio Awards. 

Old Dominion consists of lead singer Matthew Ramsey, lead guitarist Brad Tursi, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen, bassist Geoff Sprung and drummer Whit Sellers. 

Their melodic and stunning self-titled third LP was released on October 25, 2019.
